Bhagwat geeta 18 chapter and 700 shlokas

Bhagwat geeta 18 chapter and 700 shlokas :

1st chapter / प्रथम अध्याय :

The Bhagavad Gita consists of 18 chapters, and each chapter contains a varying number of shlokas (verses). In the first chapter, known as the “Arjuna Vishada Yoga” or the “Yoga of the Dejection of Arjuna,” there are a total of 47 shlokas. These verses set the stage for the Gita’s teachings, as Arjuna experiences doubt and moral dilemmas on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Here is the first shloka (verse) of the Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 1 (1.1):

Sanskrit: धृतराष्ट्र उवाच | धर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे समवेता युयुत्सवः | मामकाः पाण्डवाश्चैव किमकुर्वत सञ्जय || 1.1 ||

Transliteration: Dhritarashtra Uvacha | Dharmakshetre Kurukshetre Samaveta Yuyutsavah | Mamakah Pandavashchaiva Kimakurvata Sanjaya || 1.1 ||

Translation: Dhritarashtra said: O Sanjaya, assembled in the holy land of Kurukshetra and desiring to fight, what did my sons and the sons of Pandu do?

This verse marks the beginning of Arjuna’s moral and emotional crisis, which leads to the profound teachings of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita
